Inventory
Record stock movements and read On Hand
Bring stock in, move it between places, write it off. Every change is a move between two places, and On Hand shows the result.
Every change is a move
Open Inventory, then Stock, and use Record a movement. Pick what happened, the item, the quantity, and the places:
- Received: new stock arriving from outside, into a place.
- Moved: stock going from one of your places to another.
- Used on a job: stock consumed at a job or site.
- Written off: stock damaged or lost. It always lands in the built-in loss place.
Quantity is always a positive number. Direction comes from the two places you pick, never from a minus sign, so a number can never quietly mean the opposite of what you intended.
You never edit a balance
There is no field that sets a quantity. If a number is wrong, record the move that corrects it, for example a write-off, or a move back to the yard. The correction sits in the history beside the mistake, so the books always explain themselves. This is what makes the numbers trustworthy a year later.
On Hand shows where everything is
Open Inventory, then On Hand, for a grid of every item against every place that holds it. Empty places and used-up items drop out, so what is left is only what you actually have. Filter by category or by kind of place, and select any number to see the full list of moves behind it. From there you can also start a count for that exact item and place.
